South Seminole Heights is located in the heart of the Heights district. Its boundaries are locally known as Hillsborough Ave on the north, Florida Ave to the east, MLK Blvd to the south and the Hillsborough River to the west.

Homes in this area were originally in the 20’s to 50’s and there has been a significant amount of renovation and economic renewal in the area over the last decade. New construction is prevalent in the replacement of non-performing properties.

There are 2 city parks located in South Seminole Heights located along the river font and offering excellent access for kayaking, fishing, dog walking and recreation. The Florida Avenue corridor boasts one of the most vibrant entertainment sectors in the Heights offering restaurants, pubs and shops.

The South Seminole Heights Civic Association serves its residents, businesses and friends with established community organizations and neighborhood watch initiatives. SSHCA hosts a signature arts and music festival in the called Unite the Heights annual in the Spring. They also supports various art and improvement projects for the community including painted streets, murals and landscaping efforts.
