Hampton Terrace

Hampton Terrace is a historical neighborhood located in the east-central area of the Heights community. This is a close-knit hamlet is made up of approximately 600 homes mainly build between the 20’s & 50’s. The locally accepted geographic boundaries are Hanna Ave to the north, MLK to the south, I-275 to the west and 15th street to the east, even though renovation and reclamation of older homes continues to happen in the streets east of 15th.

Hampton Terrace, recognized as a US Historic District since 1998. The neighborhood was originally known as Lakewood Manor, based upon the homes built around Lake Roberta, one of the unique features of this neighborhood. There are 470 private residences which are “contributing structures”, adding to the historical integrity or architectural quality of the area. Most were built of the bungalow and/or American Craftsman style of architecture.

The Hampton Terrace community is well served by its residents, businesses and friends with established community organizations and neighborhood watch initiatives.
