What's Happening in The Heights This Week 1/13/2023

COMMON DIALECT BREWERY GRAND OPENING

Common Dialect has been a labor of love for local entrepreneurs Kendra & Michael Conze. The grand opening of their new venture Common Dialect will celebrate a new line of locally sourced craft beer. This was one of the most popular beers offered at last year’s River Tower Festival. The brewery is also a new local gathering spot with food trucks and live entertainment!  Located at the corner of Wilder & Florida (next door to Health Mutt) in the heart of the South Seminole Heights “entertainment district”. The opening event happens throughout the weekend!

2023 TAMPA BAY BLACK HERITAGE FESTIVAL MUSIC

Part of a ten-day cultural event that features speakers, musicians, artists, poets and craftspeople locally and nationally that coincides with Martin Luther King Day. The intent is to highlight African and African American art, culture and history, therefore serving as a conduit for promoting and perpetuating their art, culture and history. The music festival will feature dozens of local and national Jazz, Funk, Soul & R&B artists and DJ’s and will take place throughout the weekend at Curtis Hixon Park

SWEET & SPICY FOODIE FESTIVAL

Tantalize those tastebuds! Whether you crave SWEET or SPICY, this is the festival where you’ll find so many interesting flavors! This festival will showcase Tampa’s local food booth and trucks and its surrounding area businesses that have perfected their flavors and will offer you sauces, jams, salsas, and desserts for here OR for take home! Happening throughout the weekend at WaterWorks Park on the RiverFront.

BANG BANG BOWLS

Bang Bang Bowls is opening Tuesday the 17th and will offer Asian style rice bowls for lunch and dinner. They are located just about 2 blocks south of Hillsborough on the west side of Nebraska (where Casa Lyn used to be). Their hours haven’t been officially published, but here’s hoping there’s another early weekday lunch opportunity!
