Fall is finally here! Saturday is the Autumnal Equinox and the weather is about to break in a good way. Forecasts of drier air which will make it a bit more comfortable and offer a great outdoor weekend ahead! Go check out some of the things the Heights Community has going on this weekend!
HAPPY OKTOBERFEST!
Wait… this is still September. Oktoberfest is a German tradition known around the world for its beer, delicious food, and celebration of German culture and originally celebrated the marriage between marriage between Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen in 1810. The two week festival was moved into September because the days were longer and the weather was warmer. It usually lasts until the last Sunday of the month, or if October 3rd happens after then. This year it lasts until Tuesday!
BTW, because Tampa has no real chilly evenings in September, our official celebration occurs October 13th thru 16th at Curtis Hixon Park!

The Independent Bar & Café is hosting Eine Kleine Wies’n – An Independent Oktoberfest from Saturday thru October 3rd featuring numerous German beers and food offerings. Their “Meet the Brewery” will feature Hofbräuhaus on Wednesday the 27th.
Tampa Bay Brewing Company in Ybor is celebrating Oktoberfest on Sunday October 2nd
Common Dialect Brewery are brining Oktoberfest in with an offering of live music and select food/beer offerings during a two day festival on the 29th & 30th
Health Mutt is getting ready for a tail-wagging good time at Barktoberfest October 7th & 8th featuring two & four legged food & fun for the entire family! Get a new family portrait from the visiting caricature artist!
TAMPA BAY FALL FAMILY FEST
Come find the Moms Clean Air Force table at the Fall Family Fest at Water Works Park in Tampa. We’ll share what we’re working on in Florida and how you can help. This family-friendly event hosted by the Tampa Bay Moms Group will feature entertainment, interactive exhibits, food trucks, and games. Happening Saturday from 11am-3pm.
UNCORKED TAMPA WINE FEST
Join Uncorked Tampa for the 3rd annual Uncorked: Tampa Wine Fest on Saturday Sept 23rd at ZooTampa. Enjoy over 150 wines and bubblies from across the globe while you sip & savor your way around some of the favorite enclosures at the zoo after hours. WMNF ANNUAL RECORD SALE
WMNF’s beloved sale of records, cds, and other stuff is back! You are invited to come sell stuff with us, and there’s always the opportunity to barter with the other patrons, so it should be an extra great sale. I have a couple of really good audiophile friends that are offering some really great albums! They will have DJs spinning and great deals for you. Happening at New World Brewery on Saturday from 12-4pm. Open to the public for free!
VOLUNTEER FOR RIVER TOWER FEST
The annual River Tower Music Festival is November 11th this year. River Tower Festival is an all-day, family friendly, music and arts festival with all profits benefiting the iconic Sulphur Springs Water Tower and surrounding River Tower Park.
Gates open at noon. Music music starts at 1 and goes until 10. Live music includes Roxx Revolt and The Velvets, Synergy In A Cup, Tribal Style, Rebekah Pulley, Julie Black, Lauris Vidal, DJs, and more. There will be arts and goods vendors along with food trucks, beer and wine.
