Gasparilla Music Festival weekend is here! This iconic music event has drawn over 70,000 attendies in the past and features a wide variety of local, regional and national performers. The Gasparilla Music Foundation supports the music education program Recycled Tunes. The weather is forecasted to be raining on and off throughout the weekend, so plan your festive outfits accordingly.
FRIDAY
Louis The Child – EDM duo from Chicago. Their sound is described as genre-defying, ranging from electro-pop to future bass and more.
Big Gigantic – American instrumental electronic hip hop and jazz musical duo based in Boulder, Colorado. Veterans of Cochilla, Lolapalooza & numerous other festivals.
13 other musical acts including local Fil Pate. Music starts at 4pm and ends up about 11pm.
SATURDAY
Young The Giant – American rock band that formed in Irvine, California. Formerly known as the Jakes, they have been recording since 2004 and have an impressive 5 album library of music behind them.
Coin – Opening act on the mainstage is an American pop rock band formed in 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Rumble – Ft. Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr. is a New Orleans and plays inspired Indian funk, jazz and rock.
There are 16 other bands playing throught the day starting at 1pm and ending around 11pm.
SUNDAY
Lake Street Dive – American multi-genre band that was formed in 2004 at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. The 4 piece band feature Rachael Price who is a renowned lyricist and has performed regularly on Live From Here.
Christone “Kingfish” Ingram – American blues guitarist phenom and singer from Clarksdale, Mississippi. He has performed with many of the greats including Gary Clark Jr, Eric Gales and at the Chicago Blues Festival. Check out his interview on 60 Minutes about the Delta Blues revival.
There are 11 other bands playing throughout the day sarting at 1pm and finishing up around 9pm.
