DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS (TEMPORARILY)
Daylight saving time will end at 2 a.m local time on Nov. 6. So everyone should turn their clocks back one hour on Saturday night…. unless you live in Arizona or Hawaii where they have adopted DST as a year around standard. There are 19 other states, including Florida, who would like to do the same thing. FL Sen Rubio sponsored and passed the  Sunshine Protection Act of 2021, But the US Congress has to pass this into national law .

DST was originally enacted in 1918 to save fuel during WW1. Contrary to popular belief it was VERY unpopular with farmer’s, whose cows just wouldn’t get with changing their clocks. It was made a national law in WW2 & has been adjusted a few times since, but alas always reverts back to where we are

46% prefer Daylight Saving Time all year
33% prefer Standard Time all year
21% prefer it remain the same

Annual event to celebrate all things plant-based and vegan. TASTE OF THE HEIGHTS
This longtime beloved event offers a sampling of local restaurants, breweries and bars throughout Greater Seminole Heights and surrounding areas. Set up along a short route throughout Southeast Seminole Heights and features 12-15 homes opening their yards and/or gardens to local restaurants, vendors and musicians. Food tickets have already sold out for this event, but at the time of publishing there were a few drink/music tickets still available at https://bit.ly/3FEXHxQ

PAR-TEE ON THE PIER
Armature Works is adding a mobile 9 hole mini putt putt course on the pier this weekend! It’s $8 per person. They are also having a driving and chipping competition. That’s right, they are hitting biodegradable (into fish food) balls into the Hillsborough! It’s $3 a ball, but hey the novelty should be worth the price of admission!

FRONT PORCH ANNIVERSARY
Saturday is the 20th Anniversary of the Front Porch. This was one of the first places I ever hung out at in the Heights! Congrats guys & thanks for all you do in the community!
