Well that first month of 2022 went by FAST! And WOW was it COLD last weekend! This one will be a bit chilly but I am hopeful that the winter has now past. It’s time to get out and enjoy some time with your friends and neighbors! Here’s what’s happening in and around Seminole Heights this weekend!

STRAZ RIVERWALK SHOWS
The Straz Performing Arts Center is hosting free “Live & Local” musical events on Friday & Saturday throughout the month of February. These take place on their Riverwalk stage between 6-9pm, weather permitting. Food and beverages  (including adult bevs) are available. This week features local artists Mwiza Simfukwe on Friday & GuiAnna on Saturday.

tick tick… BOOM! @ Tampa Theatre
Showing Saturday at 6:30pm, this is another chance to see the next thing Lin Manuel Miranda (director) turns to gold. Based on the autobiographical musical RENT, written & composed by Jonathan Larson, who tragically died just before its release ini 1996. It’s the story of an aspiring composer in New York City who is worried he made the wrong career choice, whilst navigating the pressures of love and friendship. Already has three Tonys, three Grammys, a Pulitzer, two primetime Emmys, two Olivier awards, a MacArthur Genius grant… Tickets available at the box office or tampatheatre.org.

Don’t show up next week without that special Valentines gift for your significant otter! The Corner Club’s next market is on Sunday February 6th from 11am-4pm. Enjoy art and handmade goods from local vendors as well as tunes from DJ Cub! Cafe will be open and serving awesome food, beer, wine
